Entrepreneurship and Employment

Recognizing that innovation and entrepreneurship are key to competitiveness, the USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program worked to help create a center for innovation and entrepreneurship at the King Hussein Business Park and to engage major supporting organizations in the innovation ecosystem—including Oasis500 and iPARK—in providing specialized services to entrepreneurs and technology start-up companies hosted at the center. On a policy level, JCP played a critical role in Jordan’s accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty, a major milestone that now allows Jordanian innovators to register their intellectual property in 152 countries worldwide.
